How much does an interior designer cost in Düsseldorf?
It depends on scope, a full Altbau renovation in Oberkassel is a different brief from furnishing a Neubau shell in Grafental. So we quote per project: tell us the type of home, the rooms and your timeline, and a free, phased proposal follows within 24 hours, every stage priced before you commit. Want advice first? A 1:1 Design Call with Dania Lima is €99 for 60 minutes on Google Meet.
Do you run the whole project in English?
Yes. Dania Lima works fluently in English, German and Portuguese. Your brief, floor plans, moodboards, proposals and updates reach you in English, while Handwerker, kitchen studios, joiners, suppliers and the Hausverwaltung are handled in German, so nothing is lost between a quote and what gets built.
Do you have an office in Düsseldorf?
No. Daradiant is based in Lisbon, client in one country, site in the other. The concept phase runs over video in English, which suits clients still abroad or working long days. On-site phases in NRW (measuring, site supervision at the milestones, the styling day) are planned as bundled trips, with photo and video updates in between. The JJ Project, a completed children’s room in Heinsberg, is our German reference.
My apartment came without a kitchen, is that normal?
Completely normal. Most unfurnished German rentals arrive without a kitchen, and often without ceiling fittings. Three routes: a modular kitchen you can dismantle and take to the next posting, a fitted kitchen negotiated with the landlord, or a proper built-in one if you own the flat. We design the layout, gather quotes from German kitchen studios and manage the installation.
What can I change in a rented flat in Germany?
That depends on your lease, so read it before the moodboard, most contracts require the flat to be handed back in its original state. We plan for reversibility: freestanding wardrobes instead of chased-in joinery, plug-in and track lighting instead of new cable runs, rugs and textiles for acoustics. We go through the clauses with you, but we are designers, not legal advisers.
Can we start before we move to Düsseldorf?
Yes, and it is the calmest way to arrive. Send the floor plan and the agent’s photos and we develop the concept remotely while you finish the current posting. Orders go out early, because German lead times for kitchens and joinery are long, and on-site milestones are timed around your move-in date. Fully remote works too, through our online e-design packages.
How long does an interior design project take?
There is no standard duration and we would not invent one. Concept work moves quickly over video; what sets the calendar is scope and German supplier lead times, custom joinery and kitchens in particular. Your proposal contains a phased timeline with the dates that actually matter: order deadlines, on-site weeks and the styling day.
Which areas around Düsseldorf do you cover?
Düsseldorf’s districts (Oberkassel, Niederkassel, Golzheim, Pempelfort, Derendorf, Flingern, Unterbilk, Kaiserswerth, Benrath) plus Neuss, Meerbusch, Ratingen, Hilden, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, Cologne and Kreis Heinsberg. In short, the Rhineland and the rest of North Rhine-Westphalia. Anywhere else in Germany, our online interior design service covers you.
